Bio Born in Rhodesia, on the 10th of October, in 1975 at the peak of the Zimbabwean liberation guerilla war, Rantoboko, born Sipho Sithole, was raised on a farm plot in the outskirts of Harare. Growing up around general field hand workers and sharing their experiences, whilst at the same time being part of the main household, and thus the employee soon saw a split personality emerging in young Rantoboko. Incidents of trying to find common ground between his family and the workers caused innumerable social conflicts. These circumstances awakened Rantoboko into society’s social injustices at an early age. This, however, didn’t stop him from building his own drum set from rusty olive oil tin cans where he amazed his family with prodigal understandings of rhythms and melodies. Rantoboko is signed to JuJu Records & JuJu Publishing. |
